With still having loads of blackberries and running out of ideas of what to make with it I came across a recipe for Spicy Blackberry Chutney. So a nice simple recipe and I had all the ingredients in the Larder. These will go lovely in the Christmas gift hampers!

Blackberry and Apple Chutney
So after a morning of foraging and having loads of blackberries I wasn’t sure how I’d use them all other than jam. I visited my cousin who had an apple tree in his garden and said I could take as many as I like. This is what I came up with! I got the recipe hereBlackberry and Apple Chutney
Home made Blackberry Jam
After a bit of foraging at the weekend on dog walks we had an abundance of sloes and Blackberries.
The sloes are saved for Gin but the Blackberries were going spare so I decided I would make some Jam for the local church fayre!
Ingredients:
1kg berries
880g sugar
60ml lemon juice
Method:
Stir all ingredients together in a large pan. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
Bring to the boil then reduce to a simmer for 30 minutes.
Do the set test, if it’s set it’s done, if not simmer for another 5 minutes and check again.
